Friendship Bracelets

The last challenge is up at Camp Scrapbook Star. I know making friendship bracelets is something most girls learn at camp although I have never made one so I thought it would be fun to try. You can find lots of videos on You Tube to see how they are done.

Here's my card I made using the August Kit and I used the friendship bracelet to hold the bird cage.

My Blog is 3 years old!

I can't believe I have been blogging for three years now - crazy! I started blogging when I joined the Scrapbook Star Design Team August 25, 2007 and I have been with them ever since.

It's been an amazing three years, finally getting published, being asked to join other design teams and being the Design Team Coordinator over at Scrapbook Star. I couldn't ask for a better group of women and I have made some amazing friends through this hobby (altough for me it is definitely more than a hobby).

So to celebrate I thought I would look back on some of my older projects and share them with you and to thank everyone for visiting my blog I will be giving away a RAK. So please enjoy my trip down memory lane and leave a comment for a chance to win!

This is the first layout I made with the Scrapbook Star September 2007 kit. I love looking back at my old layouts and seeing how I have evolved over the years.

Being published for the first time is always exciting and I was published for the first time in Canadian Scrapbooker magazine in the fall of 2007. This is still one of my favorite layouts!

I was such a bad blogger in 2008 - there are lots of slide shows about my family and a few projects. One of my favorites from that year was some mini albums I made with my Bind-It-All and Basic Grey papers. Basic Grey picked it up for their monthly newsletter and I was so excited.

In 2009 I became a better blogger and had a few exciting things happen. I made the cover of the Bind-It-All Idea Book and was asked to design for them. I was so thrilled as I love my Bind-It-All and Zutter was an amazing company to be with - so supportive and caring - it was an amazing experience.

In 2009 I was also featured on the Cosmo Cricket blog which is one of my favorite paper manufacturer's. I was also published in several online e-zine's and magazines.

2009 was a sad year as well Clipper Street closed it's doors and I had the pleasure to work with some amazing ladies (and Cory) while I was there.

2010 is only half way done but has been incredible! We had the 2010 Winter Olympics here in Vancouver and my husband was a performer in the opening and closing ceremonies which was very exciting.

I did my first blog hop, was featured on several blogs and I was asked to design for Kiki Art which is an amazing Canadian company that has bright, fun paper and embellishments.

I was also featured on Two Peas in a Bucket for one of my Bind-It-All projects.

I am also being published in several magazines this year with more to come and I am looking forward to many more years of fun and craziness with this hobby. I can't believe it's been three years all ready. I am so lucky to be able to do what I do and I couldn't do it without my darling husband Michael and our two sons who put up with getting their picture taken every 5 seconds, Rhys and Linden. I love you guys!

Thanks for celebrating with me. Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in my giveaway!

Top Ten Reasons I Love My Bind-It-All

And there are many more than 10!

10. I love the size of the Zutter - it is small enough to fit on my messy desk and I can take it to my classes easily!
9. How resonably priced the machine, the covers and the Owires are!
8. It can punch through just about anything! I have tried acrylic, chipboard, clip board wood, felt, paper, cd's, old records, thin leather and tin.
7. It's pink!
6. It is so versatile. I can make mini albums, home decor, cards, wall hangings, boxes, bags and more!
5. I love all the different sizes of Owires and the colors. My favorite is the 5/8" brown - I use it all the time!
4. It let's me be creative and think outside the box!
3. I can make beautiful handmade gifts for family, friends and teachers!
2. I can use it with my kids, they love making journals, gifts for their friends and just having fun with it!
1. The number 1 reason is just it's an amazing machine that is so much fun and I couldn't imagine my life without it - I love it!

P.S. I made the photo collage with Shape Collage - isn't it cool!
