A Flash Back

With American Idol ending it made me look back at the road trip we took with some friends to go see the American Idol tour last June.  We had so much fun and got to meet most of the top ten finalists.

I don't usually use really long titles but I loved mixing this one up a bit.

Hexagon

I try and keep some blank cards stashed through the house for emergency cards.  I always seem to forget someone's birthday or to use as a quick thank you.

I love the new hexagon shape paper from My Minds Eye and used it to make a quick and simple card.

I popped up a few of the pieces to add a little dimension.

Better Together

Some things are just better together, and that includes these 2.  My son said to me the other day that they were meant to be friends.  So cute.

A Thank You Card

It's getting close to the end of the school year and this is the time of year I am thinking of ways to thanks my kids teachers.

I made this card for one of the teachers.  I really love using the mason jar stamp from Dear Lizzy.

I stamped the image on cardstock and then on vellum and cut the vellum out so it was just on the inside of the jar.  I wrapped the tops in different colors of twine to finish them off.

Online Class and a Layout

I don't normally take online classes, in fact I have only taken one and I wasn't that impressed so I have been really hesitant on taking another one.  When I saw that Shannon Tidwell was creating an online class I decided I would give the online class thing another go and am I glad I did.

I have only watched the first video and all ready I am completely inspired!  I created this layout in about an hour which is huge for me as I am usually a pretty slow scrapper.  I would encourage anyone who wants to get inspired to check out her "Sassy Scrapbooking" class from Two Peas In A Bucket.

Here is the layout I was inspired to create.

I can't wait to finish watching the videos and get more inspiration!

Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is just around the corner and I thought I better get busy making a card for my Mom and my Mother In Law.

Here's one I made with some Echo Park and Hambly Paper.  I love the  silhouette paper from Hambly, they look like little cameos, so I cut one out and used it as the focal point for my card.  I wanted to keep it fairly simple so I added just a few details like the ribbon and scallop border.

So You!

I made this layout for a challenge at a scrappy website.  The challenge was to scrap an old photo and a new photo.  I decided to do one of my son, kind of a look back then to now. The first photo is when he was about 3, one of my favorite photos of him, and one from now.  He hasn;t changed much in these last few years.  Still crazy, funny, charming, loveable, cool, handsome and talkative.

I used some My Minds Eye papers and misting for this one.

And of course some buttons.  I misted a spot for each button to go to make them stand out more.

Life Is...

an adventure!  I can attest to that lol.  I wanted to make a card for a grad that spoke of enjoying the journey that is about to happen in their life.  I used some old Making Memories travel themed paper and stamps (I am not a stamper by any stretch of the imagination) but I love how it turned out.

I made the inside of the card from the same paper and added the rest of the sentiment there.
