Fashion

Summer is definitely my favorite season, the beach, watching sunsets and just hanging out with the kids. My son really loves fashion and this summer he picked out the brightest clothes he could, I love that he has no fear when it comes to how he looks and just wears what he loves.

On this layout I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Round 14 and Round 25 as well as the coordinating Bubble Caps. I added the negative part of the punching as a layer under the photo and added the Bubble Cap to just one of the circles.

I also used the punches as a small embellishment on the bag which hides my journaling.

Savary Sugar Shack

This summer we will be heading to one of our favorite places, Savary Island.  One of the kids favorite things to do is take the long hike to the Savary Sugar Shack for some candy and freezies.

I am trying to use up some of my older paper pads and embellishments. I am so glad I purchased a type writer I use it all the time for journaling now.

I made a quick banner from scraps of paper and sanded the letter to take away the glossy feel of them.

You + Me = Love

Today is my 22nd Wedding Anniversary - I can't believe Mike and I have been together for so long!  We met when I was 17 and he was 18.  Love this photo of the cool us lol.

We got married July 27, 1991 on a boat and stopped at this waterfall to take some photos.

We both love to travel and this is us a few years ago in Hawaii.

I made this card for my darling hubby Mike.  I used the Crate Paper Fourteen collection.  Happy Anniversary honey :)

Happy Campers

My favorite summer place is our friend’s cabin on Savary Island, it’s right on a beach and no electricity so we all have to disconnect from our electronic devices and reconnect with each other.

Our favorite activities are hiking, fishing, making a giant sandcastle, relaxing and watching the wildlife.
I have thousands of photos from our week there and wanted to incorporate as many as I could on a project so I thought of doing a framed piece.
I cut all my photos to 4”x4” and mounted them on patterned paper, and then I added die cuts and stickers that coordinated with the photos.
I also used the I-top to create some coordinating brads that I could add to the photos and tags.
The I-top is so easy and fun to use, just pick the paper you would like to use and punch it out with the I-top punch.

Then place your paper and blank brads in the tool and give a little squeeze.

This collection was perfect for my cabin pictures.  Thanks for stopping by.

Pinterest and Epiphany Crafts

For my Pinterest inspired project I knew I wanted to try my hand at making a Dreamcatcher after seeing the new CHA collection release from Glitz design with the fun Dreamcather here http://pinterest.com/pin/205969382931060578/ .

I also saw this fun Dreamcatcher when I was looking for some ideas for neon washi tape. Isn't it awesome? You can find it on pinterest here http://pinterest.com/pin/205969382931046250/ .

I didn't have any neon thread or papers so I decided to go with some more muted colors and I also did them in a smaller version using some old bangles as the base.
DreamCatcher
I wrapped the old bangles with embroidery floss and used a different color to create the inside of the dreamcatcher. I cut the feathers with my Silhouette Cameo in coordinating colors.
DreamCatcher1
Instead of using beads to decorate it I used the Button Studio Tool Round 14 to create the coordinating embellishments.

I had so much fun creating these, I am always being inspired by the wonderful projects on Pinterest.

May Days

Every year our little town of Ladner has a fair called May Days, the kids love it.  The rides, the food (especially those little doughnuts), games, everything.

Both of my boys love rides and go on them over and over and over.

For this layout I used the Maggie Holmes collection from Crate Paper, I love the fabric frames so fun.  I also added some Dear Lizzy Chipboard for the title.

Minnie Canvas

When we went to Disney this year we met up with some friends that were going for the first time, we had so much fun and they had a blast - there are all ready plans to go back lol.

I wanted to make something for her daughter's room so she could remember that even at 13 it's always magical to meet Mickey and Minnie :)

I really love filling these die cuts with paper - so fun!

I have it to her for her birthday and she loved it.

Summer Camp Challenge #2

It's time for Scrapbook Nerds Summer Camp Challenge #2 - "Let It Shine".  Here's the fun badge you can earn for playing along.

For this challenge you have to add glitter or shine to your project.

I used the awesome Pow Glitter Paper and used it as a background for this layout about my Mom and I.  I don't get to do girly layouts very often and it was so fun to use the glitter paper.

I used my left over paper strips and made a frame for the Instagram photo of me and my Mom at the Opera.

I hope you play along and upload your layouts to the Scrapbook Nerd gallery.

Summer Mini

It's summer and I can't wait to head to the cabin and hangout with friends, it's my favorite time of the year!

For my Summer mini album I used the awesome Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Tool Round 14, Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Heart 25, Helmar adhesives and the beautiful Crate Paper Pier collection.

I used the Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere pretty much everything throughout the album, it's a great liquid glue that sets quickly and dries clear. For the cover I added some of the Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Tool Round 14 and used the Helmar Zap Dots to glue them in place.

For my second page I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Heart 25 to highlight the beach glass in my photo, I really love how it draws your eye straight to it. I know I will be doing this a lot more in the future.

The colors in this collection are perfect for summer photos.

I added another Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Tool Round 14 to the top of the accordion flower on this page, I love that you can make buttons that perfectly coordinate with any page.

For the last page I kept to the gold in the accents with the fun gold letters, gold clothes pin and gold accordion flower.

Next time you are creating a mini album grab some Epiphany Crafts Buttons Studio Tools and add the perfect embellishment to your projects.

Us

I love this photo of me and my husband taken when we went on a trip to Hawaii last year.

I added some white acrylic paint and Heidi Swapp Color Shine to the chipboard hearts and created a border.

I cut up the Elle's Studio tags and added them along the side of the photo.
