January PL/365 pages

This is my first year doing a Project Life/365 album so today I thought I would share some of my January pages. It's a mix of products from Crate Paper, Dear Lizzy, Chic Tags and Amy Tangerine.  I figure this album is a good way to use up all my leftover paper and embellishments.

My youngest made his first YouTube Video which was very good.  I have been working on two baby mini albums for friends and family having babies this year.  The new Olympic Coke Cans came out.

Making Lego Invitations for my son's birthday.  Rainy days - nothing new here.  Buttons cuddling with my oldest.  They have such a great bond.

Dinner with the Clipper Chicks, these girls are awesome!  Sunday dinner at Mom's while Mike is out of town.

Soccer practice.  Nightly routine watching TV with my youngest. Right now it's Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls.  After 3 band rehearsal.

Dad came home with some fun new Lego from the new Lego Movie.  UniKitty is so cute :)

I will have more to share once I get pictures.

Whistler Mini Album

I used the Chic Tags School House File Cards to create a quick and easy mini album. I love making mini albums and these file cards were so fun to use.

I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Hexagon 25 and coordinating Bubble Caps and Charms to make a fun charm for the front of the mini album.

Starting PL

This year I decided to try Project Life in a smaller format - more like a 365 album.  I am using a Simple Stories binder for now as I really liked that format for my December Mini Album.  Here's a look at the first few pages.

I used a Two Peas wood card for the first page.  I love the wood products.

I added a fun gold glitter confetti pocket, the Crate Paper Bundled UP journaling card and a photo from New Years just after midnight.

The next page is Week 1 - clearance sale shopping, movies and taking down Christmas decorations.

Lego Party

It's Hip 2B Square week over at Epiphany Crafts this week.  The hippest square in my house is definitely Lego, both my boys have loved it forever and this year my youngest is going to the new Lego Movie for his birhday party so we are doing a Lego themed party.

First I went on the Lego Movie website where you can turn yourself into a Lego character.  I made one that looks like Linden and saved it to my computer.  I used that as the base of the invitiation and just added the title at the top.  All the details are on the back.

For extra fun we created some Lego stands to hold the invites and they can be reused to hold a regular 4x6 photo.

Here is a side view so you can see them better.

Then I made some fun boxes from cardstock that look like Lego then we made a goody bag that also has a Lego look on the front. To do this I punched out the circles with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Round 25 and added them with foam tape to a rectangle piece of cardstock in the same color.

To finish off the party favors we are going to give each of them a cool Lego key chain. I used the Shape Studio Tool Square 25 and the coordinating Bubble Caps as well as the Square Charms to make them. I punched the cardstock with the square tool then added circles punched with a regular hole punch to make it look like Lego. I added a jump ring and some ribbon to finish it off.

I had so much fun making these and can't wait to see this movie with all the kids.

My 2014 Mini PL Binder

Here's a complete look at my first challenge "GO FOR THE GOLD" at the crop this weekend.  I have decided this year to do a mini version of project life using my 365 photos.

I am using a Simple Stories album to start and we will see how it goes.

I used lots of gold for the cover including gold Thickers, gold tape, gold flower and even gold mist.

I love the colors in the Bundled Up collection.

Well wish me luck on my project life attempt :)

It's Cold Season...

I don't know about you but in January we tend to get a lot of colds and flu's in our house.  What's the best thing for a cold - a cute Kleenex box right?!?

I took a Kleenex box and covered it with patterned paper and added the Winter Wishes chipboard.

This would make a great teacher gift for the New Year.

5 Baby Crabs

We had another fun layout tag over at Scrapbook Nerd and this layout was what I made when my turn was up.  I love doing these and seeing the finished tag and how the layouts changed or stayed the same.

I used the Crate Paper Pier collection (I am seriously hoarding what I have left lol).

My son loved catching baby crabs when we were at Savary and even made a crab hotel for them to stay in.

Finally Finished

I finished my December mini album a few weeks ago but never got around to posting it on my blog.  I really love making this album, this is my 5th year and each year they are completely different.  I think this year is my favorite so far!

Here's the last few pages including the January challenge at Scrapbook Nerd - confetti.

A special visit from Santa and a hug confetti page.

I used the rest of my Lawn Fawn sequins and used a punch to punch the patterned paper.

Making Christmas cookies for Santa.

Christmas day and opening presents.

Our annual skating party with the Lowe's.

So glad I finally got it finished and posted.  Can't wait until next year :)

Scrapbook Nerd January Projects

It's my week over at Scrapbook Nerd for my January project reveals.  I received the oh so cute Bundled Up collection from Crate Paper to play with.  I love this collection!

For my first project I wanted to visualize my words for 2014.  I decided this year instead of doing a journal I wanted something I could put on my wall that I would see every day.

MOMENT - Laugh, have fun and enjoy every moment!

DO - If you can dream it you can do it! (Walt Disney)

STORY - Tell our story better this year.

I love that these will be on my wall reminding me every day to live in the moment, do what I love and make every day a story worth telling.

I will be sharing more of my projects later this week.  Thanks for stopping by.
