Dude

I did a challenge recently where you could only use white with one other color - this was a huge challenge for me as I like using lots of pretty patterned papers.

I used the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection and dug up everything I could find that was black and white (well off white) and layered them around the photo of my son at 14.

I really ended up loving this layout and realize sometimes it's great to step out of your comfort zone and give something a try.

Summer Fun

This summer we are planning a road trip to Oregon for some dune buggying and beach time.  We will also stop at Crate Lake and the Marble Caves.  I wanted to make something I could take along with me and record all the memories in.  I had seen a travel journal on Dear Lizzy's blog and thought it would be a perfect way to capture these memories.

I started with a large bag and filled it with all kinds of embellishments and a date stamp and two of my favorite Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tools.

I also made this fun little mini album filled with patterned paper pages and plastic sleeves to hold photos and memorabilia.

I decorated the bag a little too - I couldn't resist.

I can't wait to go on our trip and fill this little album up with memories.

Project Life

I got the Simple Stories Birthday collection at the perfect time - I was just getting around to catching up on my 365/PL style album and my son's 15th birthday was included.

My cat is a great hunter...not so great for us who get daily treats from her.  I know she thinks she is feeding us and teaching us to hunt but it's pretty gross lol.

My mom always whips up a special birthday dinner and cake - yum:)

A selfie, my baby girl cuddling with me, Linden competing in Musical Theatre even though he was really sick he did awesome - 2nd place, he ended up staying home from school the next day and I made a few of his favorites for lunch, chicken noodle soup, goldfish, and cheese.

My oldest turned 15 - how crazy is that!  I made him his favorite Belgium waffles with whip cream for breakfast and he let me take a photo of him and even smiled :)

This collection was perfect for these pages.

PL/365 Catch Up

I am actually doing well keeping up with Project Life just not taking pictures and sharing it here on my blog so here is a catch up.

Competition season has started and Linden had his first competiton and they did great.  We went flower shopping for the garden and I wore flip flops for the first time this year!

I love the Simple Stories clear stickers they are awesome!

Another day another competion - this one was Hop Hop they did great again.  Linden's bestie Sophia is in the same class so they hung out and Linden was so happy he got one of the Funky Monkey's

Mike was able to make this one and he snapped this pretty photo of Sophia.

I tried a new app called Collect and I love that it added the text and date underneath the photo for me. I am not sure if I like not having more space for embellishment but this is great if you are behind and want to do a quick catch up.

I just added a few stickers and some patterned paper underneath and I was done in no time.

Cards

I finished off my May Scrapbook Nerd kit the same way I always do with some cards.  I think I used every piece of this kit.  First up I used the cute telephone flare badge and made this fun card.

I added some Studio Calico mist and a black pen to add interest.

For my second card I really only had pink and black embellies left so I made this quick card.

I added a cute pink flower for embellishment and that's it.
