Simple Stories Say Cheese

For this months kit at Scrapbook Nerd I got to play with the awesome Say Cheese collection kit from Simple Stories, I also got the Snap Pockets and Snap Cards.  I knew right away I wanted to  make a mini album with this kit, I have so many Disney photos and a mini album is a great way to get a lot of photos scrapped.

For the cover I used one of the transparencies to give it a little more stability.

Our challenge this month was to use journaling cards for something other then journaling.  I used the Snap cards and the journaling cards that came in the collection pack as the pages for my mini album.

I also added a few of the transparencies and even a Snap pocket for the tickets and other memorabilia.

Some of my favorite photos from Disneyland are always the ride photos - I wait at the end of the ride and make sure to snap the pictures with my phone.   I love the looks on their faces!

The boys were not interested in getting photos or autographs with the characters this year but we got lucky and met Buzz - he is the only one :(

The treats and rides were my boys favorites, of course their boys all they want to do is eat lol.  I made a page about our favorite treats.

This collection is so awesome - I know I will be using it for a while getting caught up on all my Disney albums.

Sympathy Cards

Sympathy cards are one of the more difficult cards to make but when I do make them I like to try and keep them simple and elegant.
For the first card I used a brown and gold color scheme and framed the sentiment with a chipboard frame, a flower and some beautiful Epiphany Crafts Buttons Studio buttons in the Round 25 and Round 14 sizes. They were the perfect elegant touch for this card.

For my second card I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Heart 25 to create a heart flower, I layered the hearts in a circle and then added an Epiphany Crafts Buttons Studio button in the Round 25 to the centre of the flower. I added the flower to a doily I inked up using a Hero Arts Ink Dauber.

I really fell in love with the Crate Paper Pier collection this summer and the layouts I have made with it have been some of my favorites.

I made this layout of my son and his friend enjoying some cotton candy, I always call it candy floss must be a brit thing lol.

I really loved the premade embellishments that came with this collection, made doing layouts really easy.

I used my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Round 25 and Round 14 to make my circle border.

I think these chipboard frames are in my top three favorite embellishments of all time.  Love these!

I am kind of sad to see summer go.  Thanks for stopping by.

Life is full of ups, downs, happy, sad, funny and crazy times.  I loved the sentiments in the Simple Stories Bliss line and wanted to use them for a layout and add some of my favorite photos. Be Grateful, Smile Big, Give Love, Live Simply and Laugh Lots!

I hand cut the title from the patterned paper and added a Fancy Pants cork heart inked up with the Neon Orange Ink Dauber from Hero Arts.

I also cut out the numbers from the patterned paper and added them onto each of the Instagram photos.

I layered lots of paper and stickers on this layout, it was so fun.

Life is a crazy wonderful, awesmazing (a word made up by my son) adventure.

Saturday Share

In case you haven't heard of Saturday Share there are a few blogs sharing a special feature called, Saturday Share, designed to showcase Project Life-inspired memory keeping.  This week Imaginisce is one of the blogs participating and I was asked to do a Project Life like layout.

This weeks theme is Summer Favorites.  It was so hard picking my favorite summer photos to share today but I knew they would be from our time at the cabin.  It’s so amazing there and the kids have so much fun building sandcastles, fishing, playing on the rope swing and hammock, spending the day on the beach and just hanging out.
For this layout I used a complete 12x12 sunburst patterned paper and cut it down to fit each pocket.  One of my favorite things about this style of scrapping is that I can get so many photos on one layout and with the amount of photos I take I need all the help I can get!
I created a fun element by making a confetti style pocket using Glam Rocks.
Then to finish off my layout I added some stickers, chipboard accents and die cuts.

50 Sucks

The kids and I wanted to do something fun for a friends 50th birthday and when I saw this idea on Pinterest I knew it would be perfect.
I found the tin on sale at Michaels and filled it full of Tootsie Roll Suckers - 50 of course.  To make the tin match the lollipops a little better we covered it with washi tape.
She loved it and the kids at the party loved all the lollipops too.

Imaginisce September Monthly Challenge

Imaginisce September Monthly Challenge is up on their blog.  This month we used another fabulous sketch by Diana with the theme Summer Favorites/Recap.
Here's the sketch - I loved the large triangles in the design.
I asked my oldest son what his favorite memory from summer was and it was strapping on his Go Pro helmet camera and mountain biking some pretty tough trails with his friends.
I kept pretty true to the sketch and used colors taken from the photos.  I varied it a little by using one larger photo and one smaller photo.

Don't forget to play along and upload your creations for a chance to win an Imaginisce prize this month.

Birthday Card and Gift Card Holder

I love making cards and probably the cards I make the most often are Birthday cards.
Party Time Trio
This year I had a friend who was having her 50th birthday and I really wanted to highlight the years on the card so I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Scalloped Circle 25 and the matching epoxy and punched out a 5 and 0 from patterned paper and added them to the card.

I used the same paper to make some coordinating gift card holders. I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Heart 25 and Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Star 25 to add some fun embellishments to the paper bag.

If someone you know is having a milestone birthday using the Epiphany Crafts epoxy shapes are a great way to highlight that special year.

Imaginisce Snag 'em Stamp holder

I love the Snag ‘em Stamps that come with each of the Imaginisce Collections and I have quite a few of them so I made this cute little holder for all of them.
I also wanted a quick reference for all the stamps I have so I stamped the image on a tag cut from patterned paper and used a binder ring to bind them all together.
Instead of adding a tag on the front to label the container I used the Itop and printed off a copy of the Imaginisce logo and a Snag ‘em Stamps image and turned them into brads and added them to front of the box.
Now all my stamps are in one place and sit on my desk within easy reach.

Movie Night Fun

Our neighbourhood decided to have an end of summer BBQ and movie night.  We rented a projector and they got to watch a movie on a big wall - it was so fun.
I decided to make some treats for the kids watching the movie,  candy and popcorn.  I also used some recycled ice cream cups and regular plastic cups that the kids could use to hold their treats.
I decorated the jars with some doilies and patterned paper and stickers from one of my favorite summer lines from American Crafts.
The containers were super simple to make I just added some washi tape to the top of the containers.  The kids had a blast and the candies were gone in minutes lol.
