Happy Hexagons

I try and participate in card swaps when I can it gives me a chance to make some cards and get some really awesome card inspiration from other paper crafter's. I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Hexagon 25 for this card.

First I punched out a hexagon on the lower right side of a 3.75 x 5 inch piece of white card stock to make a peek-a-boo for my stamp to show through. I then misted the paper with some aqua and pink misters and punched several hexagons from patterned paper and arranged them around the hole. To finish it off I added some enamel dots.

I love how these cards turned out and can't wait to share them with my fellow swappers

Planner Love

I have tried for years to make the schedulers work on my cell phone, tried numerous apps and calendars but they always seemed to fall short. I was so glad that real paper planners are making a come back and the fact that they are so pretty and have lots of fun embellishments and stickers is even better. I am using a Webster's Pages Color Crush Planner in light pink for my everyday life.

I found these super cute tassels at Haute Pink Fluff on Etsy - love!

I am keeping my planner pretty simple.  Cute Washi Tape along the bottom, a few cute stickers and fun clips.

I will add a few journaling cards if I find some that work with the week and color like the Good Times journaling card from Crate Paper.

I used a scrap piece of Webster's Pages paper a Maggie Holmes clip and some Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy gold letters for this page.

I have updated to the end of February for now and plan to spend this week working on March. I am loving  this so much and I know it will keep me much more organized this year.  It also gives me another excuse to buy some super cute stickers and embellishments ;)

365 - Photo A Day

I have done the 365 - Photo A Day challenge for a few years and decided to keep doing it for 2015. I wasn't really sure how I was going to document it this year until I got the new Webster's Pages Color Crush Planner. I ended up ordering two, I really wanted to dark pink binder but could only find the light pink with the planner pages so I ordered just the hot pink book and boy am I glad I did!

I ended up moving all the inspiration and scrapbooking inserts over to the hot pink binder and I am using it to document my 365 photos.

I use the Collect App on my Iphone 6 and always take a screen shot of the month when it's done and I thought the pages were perfect for documenting our month.

I am really loving these Color Crush Planners to use as mini albums.  They are gorgeous and the colors are amazing. I have the light teal and gold on pre-order and can't wait to get it.

Dance Mom

I honestly never thought I would be a Dance Mom but here I am getting ready for competition season. This weekend is the Studio West Company Preview Show. I get so nervous watching my son dance on stage so I usually help out back stage - it's always crazy but so much fun.

Gearing up for all the upcoming competitions and recitals I made a little Dance emergency bag for me and one of my good friends.  I might end up making a few more for my son's teachers and friends.  I used a small plastic bag that has a zipper top and cut the patterned paper to fit inside and decorated it with some die cut flowers and the word DANCE.

I filled them with a tensor bandage, band aids, sewing kit, wipes, nail file, Q-tips and bobby pins.  Just some supplies that might come in handy - it seems like no matter how many bobby pins you buy you can never find one when you need it lol.

I am really looking forward to seeing all the new dances and costumes it's always an exciting time of year.  Thanks for stopping by.

My Story

I got the amazing Open Book collection from Maggie Holmes to work with for this month.  I was so excited I loved it.  As soon as I saw the chipboard sheet and the "My Story" title I knew I would have to make a mini album about me,  I have been meaning to make one for a long time and this collection was perfect for it.

I wanted to keep the cover simple and use the pretty chipboard and flowers.

I created a simple 6x6 album by adhering the pages from the 6x6 paper pad back to back.

I started the album with one of the only photos I have of myself. I love this photo - not only is it rare but this is the photo my Dad kept in his wallet until he died and then my Mom gave it to me.  I love how worn and wrinkled it is.

I used some fun gold letters for my name and made a frame with the die cut flowers since my name means Flower in French.

This paper with the houses was perfect for me to list all the places I have lived.

I don't have many photos of my teenage years either (I really wish Iphones and Instagram were around when I was growing up!).  This is me the day I got my Drivers License at 16 and my first car my Dad bought at auction for me.

This is my Graduation photo. We had a dinner with the parents before heading out to the party.

July 27, 1991 I got married to Mike.  I can't believe we have been married for 23 years now.

Another big day was the day my first son was born - he was 4 hard years in the making but well worth the wait.

February 19, 2003 we completed our little family with my second son.

I have left lots of blank pages as I search for more photos and go back with memories and important times in my life but this is a great start. I ended the mini album with a current photo of me.

I can't wait to spend this year completing this mini album.

Boy Cards

Boy cards are my nemesis lol - I challenged myself to make some boy cards with the Boys Rule Collection from Crate Paper.
First up I layered some left over 6x6 paper pad papers and added a fun chipboard bicycle.

I added a fun banner and then outlined it in black to make it stand out.

For my second card I used a chipboard frame and some fun wood embellishments to make this card.

What's your nemesis?

Valentine's Milk Carton Favors

I made these cute little Milk Carton Favors for my son's class.  I used my Silhouette to cut the template and then used up some of my Crate Paper collection to decorate them.

The heart straws are from The Paper Source and my hubby picked them up for me on his last trip to California.  I will fill them up with little mini cookies.

Will you be my Valentine?

Over at the Epiphany Crafts Blog we are sharing Valentine's Day projects this week.  I made a fun card with a little pocket and a key chain for my Valentine.

I used an old collection from Crate Paper for this card.  I cut the "Our Love Story" with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Heart 25 and added it as a seal to the little pocket.

I also made a little key chain using the same tool and the Epiphany Crafts Metal Charm.

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your sweetie.

Love This

I love the flower die cut pack in the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection, it's right up my alley.  I didn't get any of the 12x12 papers for this collection so I got creative with the 6x6 paper pad for this layout.

I used the leftover strips from when I punched the hearts for my canvas project and the little strips from the top if each of the 6x6 papers in the pad to create the layered left side of this layout.

The strips have the little hang tag holes in them so I used the flower die cuts to create a pretty border and cover the holes.

I added some gold touches with the hearts, the title and I also added some gold and black misting.

I used some of the 6x6 papers and die cuts to create layers for a photo frame.  I finished it off with the chipboard banner at the top.  I really loved playing with the flowers and layering the vellum, die cut and glitter ones all together.
