Happy New Year

The countdown is on.  Only a few more hours left in 2012.  I am so excited to start 2013 I think it's going to be an amazing year.  Happy New Year!

I made this garland for the wall, I used the American Crafts Pow glitter paper and the countdown numbers from Kringle and Co.

Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by!

Last Christmas Cards

I know Christmas is over but I wanted to share the last minute cards I whipped up that I haven't shared on my blog yet.

I used the American Crafts Kringle and Co. for these cards.  I wanted a masculine card with a gift holder for a coach so I used a Kraft bag for the gift card holder and a nice deep green paper.  The bag is the perfect size for a gift card.

For the second card I used the Fiskars edge punch and punched the scallops from several patterns from the 6x6 paper pad and created a tree.

I added some Jillibean Soup Corrugated cardstock for the tree trunk and My Minds Eye enamel dots for the decorations.

To finish it off I wrapped some twine around the tree with a bird (he was helping decorate).

Post It Note Holder

Here's another version of the Post-It-Note holders I shared last week.  For this one I used the Echo Park This and That Christmas collection.

I really love the vintage feel to this line and the stickers were amazing.

To finish it off I added some twine and sequin garland to the wires.  Love how it sparkles.

Another Last Minute Gift

I always seem to need last minute gifts for someone.  This year I used my Silhouette Cameo for quite a few of the last minute gifts including this photo box.

I cut the photo box from American Crafts Kringle and Company patterned paper and added some ribbon, twine and a coordinating die cut for the embellishments on the lid.

to finish off the outside of the box I added an Epiphany Crafts metal charm.

Inside I printed off some of my favorite photos of the boys glued them to some coordinating patterned paper and wrapped them in a bow with a tag.

This gift is for a family member but you could easily just add some treats or a small present inside this box too.

Gift Card Holder's

Some more gift card holders for coaches and managers.  I made these using the free Silhouette  Blog free shape of the week the Deer Card Pocket.  I just cut out the pocket and tag from American Crafts Kringle and Co. paper and added some embellishments.  They were really fun and easy to make.

to keep it simple I just added some ribbon and buttons to finish them off.

Enjoy the Season

I love decorating for the holidays, I have a real mix of handmade and store bought decor.  I seem to add more handmade items every year like this frame.

I bought a cheap wood frame from the Diaso store and painted and inked it until it was a nice dark brown wood color.  Then I cut out the Poinsettia flowers from an old sheet of Basic Grey Christmas paper and layered them using foam tape.

A simple sentiment and some jingle bells on some twine and you have a beautiful present or a home decor piece to keep for yourself.

Magnet Gift Set

I hope you have been stopping by the Epiphany Crafts blog this week to see the last minute gifts that the design team have come up with.  They are so pretty, some great ideas.

I created another last minute gift with my Epiphany Crafts Studio Shape Tool Round 25, the bubble caps and metal charm.  I made a set of magnets for one of my coworkers, her birthday is also in December so I wanted to make something that didn't have a Christmas feel to it.

I used the pretty Crate Paper On Trend Collection.  I simply used the Shape Studio Tool to create the circles then added magnets to the back.  I used an old tin box to hold them and wrapped it all up with a metal charm.

I love how easy this was and how pretty they turned out.  Thanks for stopping by.

Last Minute Gifts

This week the Epiphany Crafts blog is creating some beautiful last minute gifts.

For my project I created a Post-It note holder and a small notebook.  I created them with my Bind-It-all and used the Epiphany Crafts Metal Charms for the perfect finishing touch.

For the note book I used the American Crafts Kringle and Company collection and created the tree using some border punches and several green patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad. I cut the presents from patterned paper and put them under the tree.

I sprinkled some Studio Calico wooden stars over the tree and stamped the Studio Calico Spread Joy sentiment.

I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool 25 with the bubble caps and metal charm with some twine to add the perfect finishing touch.

For the Post-It-Note holder I used the Crate Paper Sleigh Ride collection, I love the chipboard stickers that come with this collection.

I added some red sequin stems, ribbon and twine to the Owires.

I stamped the To and From with a stamp from the American Crafts Kringle and Company collection then punched it out to add to the charm.  I love that you can personalize your gifts in such a pretty way.

Oh Deer

I fell in love with this deer paper from Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride collection. It's so sweet!

I used it for several projects including this gift holder.  I kept it simple to focus on the paper, I just added a small sentiment and brad at the bottom with some twine.

Double Pocket Cards

This year I am giving teachers and coaches gift cards for Christmas.  I don't really like giving gift cards it feels so impersonal so I decided I needed to make a gift card holder that was different and special to add a little bit of a personal touch to these gifts.

I came up with a double pocket card using the Simple Stories Snap Pockets.  I made the base of the card from the medium sized pocket which is 4" x 6" and used the smaller pocket which is 3" x 4" for the gift card holder.

I created a video for my YouTube Channel showing how I made these cards, you can view it below.

For the first card I used the Harvest Lane collection from Simple Stories.  I added my son's teacher's name at the top of the paper in the larger pocket and my son will write a note there as well.

For the smaller pocket which will hold the gift card, I added a journaling card.

I finished off the card with the Epiphany Craft Shape Studio Tool Square 25 and the coordinating metal charms.

The second card was made using the Simple Stories Handmade Holidays collection.  Again I added a piece of patterned paper in the larger pocket and added some letter stickers for the "thanks" sentiment.  In the smaller pocket I added a journaling card.

I added a metal charm embellishment to finish off the card.

I love how these turned out and they will definitely make giving a gift card feel more personal.  Thanks for stopping by.

Holiday Trees

I am not much of a stamper but I got some gorgeous stamps from the American Crafts Kringle and Co. collection and decided I would try and use them for some Christmas cards.  I really liked the tree stamp and as I don't have a lot of options for ink color just tried stamping it in several inks to see how it looked.

I really loved the colors I ended up using which was totally random and ended up putting them together to make these cards.  I used some Distress Ink from Ranger and Studio G.

I embossed the background of the card with the Swiss Dots folder and cut out the trees using foam tape on the back of two of them to add dimenesion.

For the first card I used the Remarks Sticker for the sentiment but as there was only one black one I decided to try and recreate it using the stamp and making it a banner.

I added a coordinating jewel to the top for some bling.  I had so much fun stepping outside my box and doing some stamping for these cards.  I might have to add stamping more often.
