I Want Candy

I had so much fun making a candy and pop cake for my son's 16th birthday.

I started with his favorite Jones Sodas and then added all his favorite candy in the shape of a cake.  He loved it.

I love these washi tape strips from the Amy Tangerine collection.

And the wood tags too - love :)

One Hour Challenge

Over at Scrapbook Nerd they recently had a one hour challenge.  I love these challenges they really make you scrap without worrying.  I decided just to use up what I had on my desk including the photo which was a photo I accidentally printed out twice.

I stuck pretty close to the sketch.

I always find gold so hard to take pictures of but I love these gold words.

Have you ever done a one hour challenge?  If so do you like them?

Hello

Hello Victoria!  I loved having my Mom with us in Victoria, we walked around and took in some of the beautiful sights.

My brown ink made a huge mess so I ended up having to cover it up with the butterfly sequins.

I love these gold words, I think I have almost used them all up now.

Let's Get Together

My son turned 16 last month and all he wanted to do was go to an all you can eat sushi place called Kisah Poppo for dinner with his friends, It was almost impossible to get a photo of them as none of them wanted their picture taken.  My husband finally convinced them when he picked them up to snap this one.

They had a blast and he said they all ate their monies worth lol.  I love this group of boys, they call themselves the "Intellectual Bad Asses"!

I used the Maggie Holmes Confetti collection for this layout and even thought it's a pretty feminine collection I managed to get a pretty masculine layout done with it.  I also added the inked cork stars as embellishments.

I am so glad I got at least one shot of this group and of Rhys on his birthday.

Gift Bags with a Tassel

I had so much fun making some tassels for my Scrapbook Nerd tutorial this month. They are so easy to make - head on over to their Blog if you would like to see how :).

I added one to a gift bag I made for a friends daughter. So pretty and it's the perfect touch for a fun gift bag.  I also added a gold doily and some pretty stickers.

I made a second bag for another friends birthday this month.  I love the cute banner and balloon.

I plan on filling this one with some candy a little gift card.

Happy 16!

I got the May Scrapbook Nerd kit at the perfect time.  I love all the Maggie Holmes Confetti papers and embellishments I got.  So fun!  I had so many birthdays I needed to scrapbook and make cards and gift card holders for and I got so much done.

First up my adopted daughter (not really but I love her like she's mine) had her 16th birthday a few days ago and I wanted to make her something fun.  I ended up making her a layout and I also made her a Heidi Swapp Marquis star for her room.

For the layout I layered some pretty patterned paper and used one of the embellished pockets to write her a little note from us.

For the marquis star I used some fun glitter paper. I think it will look so pretty in her room.

I can't believe 16 years has gone by so fast.

I can't wait to give it to her.
