Hip Hop

My son loves his Hip Hop instructor she is amazing and so fun - especially when she has to put up with her all boys class lol.  To thank her I made her a special cup using my Silhouette and some black vinyl.

I also made up these cute little candy bags for all the kids in his classes.  Just some cute treat bags a little washi tape and gold glitter tape.

Thanks Jyla for an amazing year!

Headphones

My teen aged son has taken to wearing his headphones all the time, playing video games, doing homework, listening to music, it just seems like he has them on all the time.  I knew I wanted to use the song lyrics from The Mounties song Headphones on this layout but wasn't sure how.

I ended up cutting out some of the lyrics with my Silhouette Cameo and I really loved how it looked.

I used the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection and layered some journaling cards with the photo under the lyrics.

I was really happy with how this layout turned out - now if I can only get him to take the darn things off every once in a while.

Killing a kit

Sometimes it's difficult when you get to the end of a kit to finish it up but I managed to make one more layout with my Scrapbook Nerd kit.

I used up the rest of the corrugated cardstock and papers to make this layout about Kite Day at my son's school.

I kept it really simple and added some black foam letters and some labels at the top for journaling.

Technology is Cool!

Technology is so cool!  One of my favorite photos this year is my son multitasking.  He was talking to his Dad via Facetime - it's so awesome they can still say goodnight no matter where in the world he is and doing homework with a friends over Skype.

I used the new Boys Rule collection from Crate Paper which is awesome!

I also added some ink to dirty it up a little - just like boys ;)

Paradise

I made this quick layout using up some old stash as a challenge to Scraplift another layout.  It's totally not my usual style but I love the simplicity of it.

I added some fun cork hearts as embellishments.  I love this photo from Balboa Park in San Diego.  Even the kids loved all the beautiful architecture.

Birthday Cards

The Simple Stories Birthday collection was perfect for making some quick birthday cards.

I added some of the fun stickers and enamel dots to make the journaling cards a little more interesting.

Love the enamel dot bubblegum :)

I used glitter on the candles to make them shine.

Me and You

Ahhh, my favorite person in the world - Mickey Mouse.  Here he is relaxing at California Adventure Park with a few of his favorite peeps :)

I love the Dear Lizzy collections (I hear she loves Disney too) as they always seem to have the perfect Disney words and embellishments for my Disney projects.

Stars

I love bright colors and when I saw this weeks color inspiration I couldn't wait to get started. I found some fun star paper from Bella Blvd. that had pretty much all the colors in the inspiration piece and set to work.

I loved how the colors were lined up and decided to make that part of my layout so I cut the paper into strips and made a fun background from them.

I knew I had to use my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Star 25 to add even more stars to this layout and did that in several ways. First I punched the stars from the patterned paper and covered some of the with the coordinating Bubble Caps.

Second I used it to punch the stars from the black paper and let the color from the background show through.

And lastly I added an Epiphany Craft Bubble Cap Star 25 to one of the coordinating stickers from this collection to make it stand out.

I really love this photo of my son and his friend from their last dance competition, they look like little stars - soon to be big stars!

Documented

I am terrible at doing birthday layouts they always seem to get put out of the way and forgotten about.  When I got to play with the Simple Stories birthday collection this month at Scrapbook Nerd I was so excited to get some birthdays documented.

For my first project I wanted to make a mini album for my youngest son’s birthday. I was going to do a traditional mini album but once I saw the fun file folder journaling card I thought it would be fun to make a file folder type of mini album.

To make this album I took the corrugated cardstock and made the envelope just a bit larger than the 4” x 6” journaling card. To create the envelope pocket I cut the corrugated cardstock to 6.5" wide and 8.5" long. Then I folded it in half and used my Tiny Attacher and stapled the two sides together and left the top open to create a little pocket. I decorated the journaling card with some wood veneer and enamel dots.

For the inside I picked a few of the smaller 3” x 4” snap cards and cut down my photos to fit on the back side of them and glued them together.

I decorated the cards with some of the fun stickers that come with the collection and also some enamel dots and wood veneer.

These cards fit perfectly inside the envelope pocket and even leaves room for some larger photos if you had more you wanted to add.

If you want to scrapbook a birthday celebration this collection is perfect!
