Adventure

I am trying like crazy to use up some old stash I came across when cleaning my room the other day (whoops).  I dug out some photos from Disneyland for this layout using some old Simple Stories.

When we go to Disneyland my sons each have their favorite, my oldest loves the fresh pineapple and the Dole whip and my youngest loves the giant pickles.

I punched the letters from the patterned paper to create a unique title.

BBQ Fun

Today is the last day of July - where the heck did it go?  One of my favorite things to do so far this summer is sit on our deck, eating yummy BBQ and having amazing conversations with the kids.  As they get older and spend less time with us I have really been trying to connect with them on a different level and good food always seems to get them talking, laughing and just being silly.  I love these moments.

I used up the scraps left from my Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad and some foam Thickers.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer!  Thanks for stopping by.

Go Speed Racer

I received a Glitz Roller Stamp as part of a RAK recently and couldn't wait to give it a go.  I inked it up with black ink and created a fun background for this layout.

We bought this go cart for the boys when they were little and even though they are now older and can barely fit in it they still won't let me give it up.

I used the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection for this layout.

They had the perfect car embellishments, I used the wood veneer car and a couple of the chipboard cars to make a border along the bottom of the photo.

23 years strong

I honestly can't believe 23 years ago today I got married.  That's crazy right?  It's been a wild ride but I wouldn't share it with anyone else.

Mike and I met over 27 years ago when I was 17 and he was 18.  He was a musician and in a band (hence the Flock of Seagulls Hair lol).

We moved out to BC several months later after I turned 18.  My parents didn't think it would last but obviously we were just meant to be together.

We got married July 27, 1991 on a boat (The Carousel 2) and it was exactly what I wanted - something small, intimate, different and fun!

We moved to a great community called Ladner, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.  Then we added to our family with two wonderful boys Rhys and Linden.

Traveled and went to Disney a lot (because he know how much I love it)

Laughed, cried, fought, made up - all that stuff that comes with marriage. Like the time we were driving home from Savary on our anniversary and he bought me a Slurpee for a present...exactly what I wanted :)

He still buys me flowers and makes me laugh.

The boys are 15 and 11 now so we work hard to pay off our mortgage, travel whenever we can, and try and go on an adventure now and then.  Happy 23rd anniversary honey, here's to many more.

Happy Anniversary :)

The Paper Nest and stamping

I am not a stamper but when I saw the super cute stamps from The Paper Nest I knew I was in for some fun. Instead of using the stamps in the traditional way and coloring them in I knew I would have to incorporate one of my favorite things - fussy cutting. I used some fun 6x6 paper pads and stamped the image several times and paper pieced the image together.

First up is Balloon Owen - He is perfect for a birthday card! I paper pieced him using the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection and even added a fun scooter for him.

For the perfect finishing touch I added the new Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Chevron 25 to the top of the card. I love this new shape and can see using it all the time.

Next Up is Tea Time Avery - I thought she would be perfect for a Tea Party Invitation! I paper pieced her using the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad .

Since it was a party invitation I thought the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Pennant 25 would be the perfect embellishment for the card.

Next up is Rainy Day Ellie - I thought she was perfect for a pick me up card. I used the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad to piece her together.

I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Butterfly 25 to add a fun embellishment. I also added some glossy accents and glitter to the raindrops for some texture.

I had a lot of fun with these stamps - Thanks for stopping by.

Frozen

My son participated in a medley of Frozen with his voice teacher and a few of her students.  They got asked to perform it a few more times and I wanted to make a layout to add to Linden's Portfolio Book.

I used the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad to cover the wood veneer paper and added some fun embellishments.

Here he is in the $2.00 Olaf costume we made.

My favorite line was I like warm hugs.

He had so much fun doing these concerts and I loved watching him.

More Teacher Gifts

My final gift whew - I made a fun gift for my son's voice teacher.  They did an awesome "Frozen" medley and Linden sang the Olaf song In Summer.  I loved the part when he came on and his teacher Tracy and her husband Tony (they sang Love is an Open Door) gave him a hug.  I found this cute printable on Pinterest and printed it off and added a photo from one of their performances.

I also made a key chain from a photo hubby took after the show.

I have to say it was an amazing year and he is so lucky to have these two amazing people in his life.
