Summer Crush

I am sure we have all had a summer crush at some time in our life and this summer I am totally crushing on Andrea Bethke. For my second Summer Camp challenge I am challengein you to tell me about your summer crush, who is inspiring you right now.

I took Andrea's One Magical Mini class on Big Picture Classes and fell in love. Like me she loves Disneyland and mini albums. I was inspired to finally get started on my Disneyland Midori. You can see how I made these pages on my video here

I made a cute shaker pocket for the cover of my first notebook.

I used the Minc foiling technique from the class to make this fun gold castle for the inside page.

Our first stop was a Breakfast with Minnie in the park where we met Minnie and a bunch of other characters.

The food was amazing and I loved the cute Mickey Waffles.

I hope you stop by in a few weeks to see part 2 of my Disney Midori.

Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Journal - Midori Stlye

Hi and thanks for dropping in today!

A few weeks ago I ordered a Websters Pages Craft Folio in a sunny yellow with a pineapple on it, I mean how could  I not. The folio came with lots of embellishments too and also a trasvellers notebook. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to turn it into a summer journal.

I added some journaling cards from the Dear Lizzy Happy Place collection on the cover and one of the fun tassels.

On the inside page I added the Summer To Do List from the same collection and added some Dear Lizzy gold letters to the list.

My first layout is from our first visit to the beach and some cute Floaties I bought.

You can see the video on how I set it up here:

Midori Madness - Dance Edition Part 2

Today I am sharing the Midori I made for my son's Musical Theater class - they are doing a pirate piece called Hooks Revenge and it is awesome. I had bought some of this October Afternoon collection to do a page about Pirates of the Caribbean ride but decided to use it here instead.

I made the book and added some of the fun pirate embellishments and journaling cards.

This sticker was perfect for the inside cover.

Linden is playing Captain Hook and when he got his costume he loved it, especially the wig - I mean how can you not!

They did amazing at their first competition getting first in their division and top ten overall. So proud of these kids it's a hard dance and to be able to do that and sing and act at the same time is really hard.

They had a whale of a time at their fist competition.

I will be filming another video and doing the other books for this midoi although it's all ready looking pretty full so I might have to rethink it again sigh.

Thanks for stopping by.

Midori Madness - Dance Edition

This Midori Madness episode is all about dance. My youngest is in company/competitive dance (as seen on Dance Moms lol) and I wanted to make a Midori for all his competitions and just a place to hold all the amazing recitals and events that they do, These kids are like a little family and we both love hanging out with them and they push each other to be better.

You can see the video on my channel here -

I am using this super cute fabric Midori I bought from Love Neen on Etsy her Midori's are so beautiful and she also makes the cutest little key chains - I must get the Unicorn. The tassel is from Haute Pink Fluff on etsy and she make the most amazing tassels in all colors and sizes.

I am using this booklet I made with the Crate Paper Poolside collection for his Duo. This was the fist time Linden has been asked to compete with a Duo and he was very excited. The song is Stud and A Babe and it is perfect for him. He gets to play a nerd who turns into a stud who decides being a nerd is better.  Love it!

Lots of practicing and getting together a costumes and they were ready for their first performance at a retirement home.  They were a big hit and were treated to ice cream after the show,

They had a company recital for all the Solos/Duos and Trios competing this year and seeing them in full costume on stage was awesome. They killed it.

They had their first compeition and came first place in their division. So proud.

Come back next week and I will show you book two - the Pirate edition.

Thanks for stopping by.

Midori Catch Up

I posted a quick video on my channel today - a quick catch up on my Midori's. In my previous post I showed the completed Wizard of Oz Midori and I am almost done the Midori for my son's Into the Woods show. I am using a Midori from Love Neen on Etsy and I added a charm with my Epiphany Crafts Round Tool. I really love the black plus sign Midori I should have gotten two!

I did the same process with this book but it ended up only being one book as it was less shows and rehearsals than Wizard of Oz was. Linden auditioned in September 2015 and was his usual goofy self.

I won't go through too much detail with the photos or this post will be long! The rehearslas were once a week and were local so no long driving which was nice.

I volunteered to plan the Cast Party at the end of the show which was so much fun.

After Wizard of Oz ended it was time to focus on Into the Woods and after many rehearsals we finally got to tech week at Metro Theatre in Vancouver. It was a super cool location.

Tony did an amazing job with the sets, the trees moved around the stage - so cool!

I also offered to do the cast wall and made big trees out of black paper and added the photos to it.

Watching rehearsals was so much fun, I snuck as many photos as I could.

Tony was the only adult in the cast he played the wolf and was amazing.

When I saw Linden in his Rapunzel Prince costume I loved it. Finally it was show time, Linden was in 4 shows total over three days and nailed it every time.

The kids had a blast at the cast party.

Now it's all over another bitter-sweet moment for me.

Here is the link for the video on my YouTube channel please stop by and let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wizard of Oz Midori

I finally got the Wizard of Oz Midori for my son finished. There is nothing quite like knowing a project is complete. I think that's why I have always loved mini albums and now Midori's they are little treasure troves of pretty paper, cute embellishments, fun pictures and life!

I love this picture on the little charm I made, how cute are those Munchkins.

The cast had a Cabaret to celebrate how well the show was going. It was a blast.

Sneaking backstage to take photos of his costume rack.

They had a performance on New Years Eve so Linden and I got the kids noise makers, party hats and sparkling apple cider.  The last show was so bitter-sweet.

A wind up cast party and the cutest gift from the Director Barb.

Look at all this goodness, I love the washi tape on the edges!
