Summer Crush

I am sure we have all had a summer crush at some time in our life and this summer I am totally crushing on Andrea Bethke. For my second Summer Camp challenge I am challengein you to tell me about your summer crush, who is inspiring you right now.

I took Andrea's One Magical Mini class on Big Picture Classes and fell in love. Like me she loves Disneyland and mini albums. I was inspired to finally get started on my Disneyland Midori. You can see how I made these pages on my video here

I made a cute shaker pocket for the cover of my first notebook.

I used the Minc foiling technique from the class to make this fun gold castle for the inside page.

Our first stop was a Breakfast with Minnie in the park where we met Minnie and a bunch of other characters.

The food was amazing and I loved the cute Mickey Waffles.

I hope you stop by in a few weeks to see part 2 of my Disney Midori.

Thanks for stopping by.

Star Wars - The Countdown...3 days to go

3 days left until Star Wars Day and Episode 4 - A New Hope is on tap for tonight's viewing pleasure. The original and still my favorite one.

I had to add Luke and Leia for today, love these cute little stickers.

I had to use the quote "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" for today.

Star Wars - the countdown...5 days to go

Today is 5 days until Star Wars day (May 4th) and we are watching Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones tonight.  Here is a picture of my planner and some cute notebook I picked up at Target.

To complete this week I used more of the skinny Washi Tape in different colors and added the Bobba Fett and Storm Trooper stickers (and for you die hard Star Wars fans, yes I know it's not a clone trooper but I had to use what I had lol)

Stop by tomorrow for another episode of Star Wars - The countdown.

Plan With Me/Project 365

Hi all, I am up today with a new YouTube video for March Plan With Me/Project 365. I am showing I use the Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner to plan and highlight my Project 365 Photo a day as well.

Here are a few photos from the memory keeping side of things.

I am using the Simple Stories 6x8 page protectors to hold my photos and I show you how to add them into the planner binder in the video.

I write out all the details on the last page of the month then add number stickers to correspond to the photos.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you next month with a new Plan With Me/Project 365 video.

Planning Fun

I wanted to share how I set up my daily sheets in my Carpe Diem to prepare for the month ahead. I try and get them done at least a week or two before the end of the month and sometimes when I have time I will do 2 or three months ahead. I am keeping it pretty simple just using the washi tape to separate the days. I add in the usual work and extracurricular kids stuff first.

Then I fill in the birthdays and any other important events and highlight those with stickers.

I keep the post it note holder bookmark from Simple Stories on the day I am working on and then if I need to make a quick note I have one right there.

Then I add in the insert for my Project 365 and pick a coloured number that works with the pattern on the paper. I clip that in with one of the magnet clips. You can see I have all ready added 2 photos that I printed out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Project 365 - Planner Style

I am using the Carpe Diem A5 planner from Simple Stories to do my Project 365. I finally got around to finishing January up and so far I love it. On the last page of the month inserts there is a blank lined page so I numbered it 1 - 31 for the days of the month then briefly wrote a description of the photo I took that day.

I added a Simple Stories insert by adding washi tape and re-punching the holes then added photos from the month using the number stickers that come with the planner collection on the photos.

So far I am in love with this. The planner part has everything we do from day to day then the insert will have photos highlighting the month. The Planner world and the Scrapbooking world all in one - BAM!

Thanks for stopping by.

What?!

My oldest son made his first App from scratch - he's only 15! What?! He is so crazy talented and determined I can't wait to see what else he does in his life. This photo is from a photo shoot he had for our local newspaper which ended up on the front page of our local paper The Optimist.

I made this layout for a challenge on the Scrapbook Nerd Forum. It's a little outside of my comfort zone layout wise but I had fun making it and that's what matters!

I am doing more stash busting here using some old Simple Stories paper, some old Crate Paper letters and American Crafts buttons.

I hid a photo of the article in the newspaper under the other photo.

Carpe Diem Planner Set Up

I am using the Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner for a planner/my 365 album this year. Here is how I am setting it up (you can see a video on my YouTube channel).

I am using the Robin Egg planner look how gorgeous it is.

I added a Maggie Holmes tassel that matched perfectly and used the inside pockets for extra stickers and accessories.

This is the monthly view and I will keep that one pretty simple just the important stuff.

I love the little sticky note today divider and will get lots of use out of these cute sticky notes.

The week view has plenty of room to write and decorate.

I will also be adding in page protectors to add my photos, this is a Simple Stories 2x2 page protector and I just re-punched the holes so it fit on the rings,

I will be adding my photos from every day and using the last note page to write down what went on that month and what each photo was about.

I can't wait to start using this planner it's so pretty.

December Daily - Day 1,2 &3

As promised here is the video for the first few days of December.  I am all ready having so much fun capturing December and creating this album.

I had to add this photo of my kitty even though it wasn't taken in December it was a great way to start of this album.

December 1st was all about advent calendars and the return of Nick the Naughty Elf.

December 2nd we had a huge storm so I brought out my new scarf and we finally moved rehearsals for Linden a bit closer to home.

December 3rd my hubby brought us home some yummy Christmas donuts and we took our Christmas photo - this year the boys would not do a formal photo so selfie it is.  At least we are all in it.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily

I love doing the December Daily it's one of my favorite projects to do and I look forward to it all year long.  This year I am using the Simple Stories 6x8 Christmas binder and I plan on video taping my process and sharing it on my YouTube Channel.

Here is the video for how I decorated the album and did my cover page.

Here are some photos. I really love how the rub ons turned out.

I added a photo from our Christmas photo shoot to the inside of the album.

For the cover page I used some vellum with gold crosses and some gold Thickers along with an old snow globe chipboard that I have been hoarding from Crate Paper.

Stay tuned for more December Daily pages coming soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Inner Unicorn

My son loves Unicorns and I love that he loves Unicorns. One day as he was getting ready for school he grabbed a hoody and put it on and the hook left a bump at the top of the hood.  I said to him "Don't ever lose your inner Unicorn" and he said to me "Don't worry mom I am 99% Unicorn.  I knew I would have to scrap that moment so I took a photo with my Iphone.

I don't know if you can see the bump but it was the cutest thing.  I really do believe he is made of magical Unicorn stuff.

I used the Simple Stories collection because nothing goes better with Unicorns than rainbows!

I really hop he never loses his inner Unicorn!
